Winter Fellowship

We are proud to announce Bring It In - Israel's Winter Fellowship.

The Bring It In - Israel Winter Fellowship is open to participants currently on long term Israel programs. Bring It In - Israel Fellows receive training as certified Israel Sports Educators through hands on sports volunteering with Israeli children ages 6 - 12. Fellows learn from top Israeli and American Sports Based Youth Development Experts. Upon return to their home communities, Fellows will use their new skill sets to implement Israel Sports Education days.

The Bring It In - Israel Winter Fellowship will take place between November 15th - December 15th. During this time Fellows must take part in 8 Sports volunteering activities and 2 training sessions. Training sessions will leave from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. Bring It In - Israel takes into consideration the Fellows obligations to their long term Israel programs during this period. Upon completion of the program Fellows receive Bring It In - Israel's Israel Sports Educators Certificate, making them marketable coaches to run Israel sports days at Hebrew Schools and Jewish Camps. In addition, Fellows join Bring It In - Israel's global community of coaches and receive continued online professional development, as well as updates about sports based youth development opportunities in their communities.   

 

The Fellowship Focuses On Developing The Following Skills:

  • Teaching Israel through sports
  • Effective communication with children
  • How to facilitate team building activities
  • Developing practice plans
  • Group games and drills
  • Group engagement
  • Basic Sports Ulpan (Hebrew sports vocabulary)
  • Moderating and responding to group temperature
  • How to foster self-esteem in children
  • Identifying and highlighting teaching points
  • Motivation techniques
  • Creating trust and commanding respect
  • Offering positive and constructive feedback
  • Assessment: post practice & event evaluation

Applicants should fit the following criteria: 

  • Demonstrated past achievement: academics, leadership roles
  • Past Involvement in youth groups, camps, and volunteering
  • Highly motivated to effect change through sports
  • Ability to influence and motivate others
  • Past experience working with children
  • Basic knowledge of basketball and soccer
